What happens

In Naples, Manina Stewart and David Lawrence meet on a delayed flight and spend two days together while the plane is repaired. Both are Americans far from home, and their brief romance in Naples and Capri grows deeper than either expected. Joan Fontaine and Joseph Cotton star in this Lux Radio Theatre production, a romantic drama set in Italy. The transcript ends before the story's full conclusion, with the two characters still facing a difficult choice about their future together.

Naples, Capri, and Florence, Italy, 1950s

Characters: Manina Stewart, David Lawrence, Catherine Lawrence, Charles, Maria Salvatini, Johnny

Listen for: Listen for the moment David and Manina are told they are presumed dead in a plane crash, and their decision about whether to start a new life together.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
