What happens

Dr. Gordon, a new prison psychologist, arrives at a state prison to assess the convicts for work aptitudes and personality problems. He is at first distrusted by the inmates, and he struggles to win their cooperation. Connie, a safecracker who works the prison cameras, becomes his first assistant, and the powerful convict Punch Panero soon takes an interest in the newcomer. Dr. Gordon begins building a staff of prisoners while trying to earn the respect of men who see him as the enemy. The episode is the Lux Radio Theatre production of My Six Convicts, starring Dana Andrews as Doc and Millard Mitchell as Connie, with Sheldon Leonard as Punch.

A state prison, where a new psychologist works in a converted storeroom.

Characters: Doc, Connie, Punch Panero, Warden, Captain Haggerty, Dr. Gordon, Copac, Scott

Listen for: How Doc slowly wins the prisoners' trust, and Connie's role as his go-between.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
