What happens

Mike, a young girl, wanders onto the stage during a concert at the York Philharmonic Hall, where her older sister Barbara plays in the orchestra under the celebrated conductor Jose Tuvi. Mike is taken backstage and makes her way into the orchestra's routine, befriending the conductor's assistant Andrews. Barbara worries about her husband Joe, who has been overseas, and the orchestra continues its tour of Army camps, with its members facing the strains of wartime. Music for Millions is part of the Lux Radio Theatre series, originally broadcast on May 27, 1946, starring Margaret O'Brien, Jose Iturbi, Jimmy Durante and Frances Gifford.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
