What happens
Myrtle McKinley, a young girl just out of high school, takes a job as a chorus dancer at Warren's Opera House after a gruff manager, Mr. Waller, tests her legs and agrees to pay her ten dollars a week. There she meets Frank Burt, a comedian whose act she quickly learns, and the two form a stage partnership. Their working and personal relationship develops as the company travels, and Myrtle must decide how much of her career and future she is willing to put on the line. The story is set against the Lux Radio Theatre adaptation of the 20th Century Fox musical Mother Wore Tights, broadcast on January 4, 1955.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
