What happens

Eva Lovelace, a stage-struck young woman from Franklin, Vermont, seeks a part in a new Broadway play produced by Lewis Easton. She is turned away at first and misjudges her own talent, pressing herself on the producer and the playwright, Joseph Sheridan. Her New York debut in Blue Skies goes badly, and she is dismissed from the production. The story is part of the Lux Radio Theatre series, broadcast on October 12, 1942, and stars Judy Garland, John Payne and Adolf Menjou. The transcript covers only the first part of the episode.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
