What happens
In 1881 Vienna, Crown Prince Rudolph of Austria is arrested in a street riot and grows restless under the strict watch of his father, Emperor Franz Joseph, and his minister. At a fair he meets Marie Vetsera, a young girl from a noble family, and the two begin a secret romance that the court and her anxious mother seek to stop. This is an episode of the Lux Radio Theatre, first broadcast on January 9, 1939, and starring William Powell and Janet Gaynor.
