What happens
In 1928, Margie McDuff, a young debater at Central High, has her life complicated by a new French teacher, Mr. Fontaine, who takes an interest in her. Her grandmother, a former suffragette, encourages her to stand up for herself, while her classmate Roy walks her home and hopes for her affection. Margie also worries about her father, an undertaker she rarely sees and feels embarrassed by. This Lux Radio Theatre production adapts the 20th Century Fox film Margie, starring Jean Crane and Glenn Langan, and was broadcast on September 8, 1947. Margie's private embarrassments grow as the school debate and a skating party approach.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
