What happens
Dr. Larsen, a psychiatrist at the Kendall Sanitarium in London, tries to reach Jessica Cunningham, a young patient who attempted suicide and no longer speaks. Under a mild drug, Jessica recalls her childhood as a gifted pianist and her guardianship under Nicholas Brandt, a wealthy, lame and controlling older man who took her in after her father's death. Her first romance with Peter, a dance-band musician, and her later career as a concert pianist are retold to Dr. Larsen. Lux Radio Theatre presents this 1947 broadcast of The Seventh Veil, starring Joseph Cotten and Ida Lupino, on September 15, 1947.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
