What happens

Hank McHenry and Johnny Marshall are linemen who climb high towers to restore power during storms. When Hank is injured by a live wire, Johnny works to save his life, and Hank is later sent home to recover. Hank becomes interested in Faye Vail, a young woman recently released from prison, whose father was an employee at the power company. Hank buys her gifts and proposes marriage, while Johnny grows wary of the relationship and warns him about her past. The transcript ends as Hank, pressing his claim on Faye, is confronted by one of his co-workers.

A power company in an American city, its storm-battered transmission towers, a hospital, a drugstore, and a nightclub.

Listen for: Johnny's warnings about Faye and Hank's growing fixation on her.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
