What happens
Michael Marnay, a famous Parisian playboy, and Terry McKay, a singer engaged to a wealthy man in New York, meet by chance aboard the liner Normandie after a gust of wind blows a radiogram into Michael's hands. Their shipboard flirtation turns into something deeper during a stop at Madeira, where Michael introduces Terry to his grandmother. Back in New York, Terry must decide between her engagement and her growing feelings for Michael, while Michael tries to make a living by painting. This episode of the Lux Radio Theatre, with Irene Dunn and William Powell, was broadcast on April 1, 1940, and is adapted from the RKO film Love Affair.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
