What happens

Sir Mark Lodden, a member of Parliament, is confronted by a former prisoner-of-war companion, Frank Wellney, who claims that Mark's identity is his own and that Mark was killed. A newspaper, the Daily Gazette, publishes the accusation that the man posing as Sir Mark is an imposter, and Mark sues for libel. Lady Enid Lodden stands by him as the case is brought to court. Ronald Coleman plays Sir Mark, with Edna Best as Enid and Otto Kruger as Foxley, in this 1943 Lux Radio Theatre adaptation of Edward Wooll's Broadway drama Libel, broadcast on 15 March 1943.

England in 1934, sixteen years after the First World War, at the Lodden estate in Norfolk and later in a courtroom.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
