What happens
Peter Goodwin, a proud Kentucky horse breeder, clashes with the Dylan family over an old feud that began during the Civil War. His niece Sally Goodwin and Jack Dylan, who has come home from years abroad wanting to work with horses, find themselves drawn together despite their families' hostility. Money troubles at Elm Tree Farm grow more pressing as Peter gambles on cotton, and tensions between the two households rise over a bank loan and a wager involving a racehorse. This Lux Radio Theatre production, broadcast on May 28, 1945, stars Lorraine Day, Walter Brennan and Tom Drake. The transcript covers the story up to the point where Sally and Peter lose their farm and seek a new start.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
