What happens

Hap Hurley, a prize fight manager, and his fighter Eddie Chick Cowan, a lightweight from Brooklyn, are left broke after a bad night at the Bronxdale Fight Club. Wandering the streets, they meet C. Clinton Blackpoint, who takes them home to his Park Avenue house for a meal. There they meet Robert Parker, the fiancé of Blackpoint's sister Sue, who is tense and suspicious. Blackpoint, who has been trying to clear his late brother Jerry's name, hires the two men as butler and footman after the household servants walk out. Hap and Chick begin their work in the house, which Parker regards with open contempt. This is the 1936 Lux Radio Theatre production, starring James Cagney, with Robert Armstrong and Boots Mallory, and is broadcast on September 7, 1936.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
