What happens
Captain Kinross commands the destroyer Tarrant in the Lux Radio Theatre production of In Which We Serve, broadcast on June 21, 1943. The Tarrant is attacked by German aircraft off Crete in May 1941, and as the ship sinks, the captain's memories return to August 1939, when he took command of the vessel. We hear him settle into the Tarrant, his home life with his wife Alex and their children, and the commissioning of the ship on the eve of war. Ronald Colman plays Captain Kinross, with Edna Best as Alex. The broadcast is presented under the direction of Cecil B. DeMille.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
