What happens
Opera singer Ina Massey returns to New York after two years abroad and finds herself drawn back to her former husband, Dr. Lincoln Bartlett, when she is asked to sing at a hospital symphony concert he helps organize. Lincoln is now engaged to Agnes Young, and the old tensions between the former couple resurface during rehearsals and private encounters. Lux Radio Theatre presents this 1952 production, broadcast on November 10, 1952, with Van Johnson and Catherine Grayson in the leading roles. The story turns to Ina's sudden loss of voice, which sets Lincoln and his colleagues to puzzling over her condition and her feelings.
New York City, including Ina's apartment, the hospital, and a concert hall, with a country house mentioned.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
