What happens
Dr. Newell Page, a young surgeon at the Fade Park Hospital outside Boston, works alongside his nurse, Francis Oglebay, who is clearly fond of him. Their routine is disrupted when the surgeon Dr. Endicott is delayed, postponing the operation on Mrs. Dexter, a devoted patient who listens to the sermons of Dean Harcourt. When Page decides to operate immediately, a series of events leads to a tragic death and a bitter argument over blame. Lux Radio Theatre presents this adaptation of Lloyd C. Douglas's novel Green Light, first broadcast on January 31, 1938, starring Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland, with C. Aubrey Smith as Dean Harcourt.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
