What happens
Judith Traherne, a wealthy young socialite on Long Island, suffers a fall from her horse and begins experiencing unexplained headaches and vision trouble. Her friend Anne urges her to see a doctor, and she eventually consults Dr. Frederick Steele, a surgeon who has just closed his practice to pursue research. Steele examines her and sees that her condition is serious. This recap covers the first part of the Lux Radio Theatre production of Dark Victory, broadcast on January 8, 1940, starring Bette Davis and Spencer Tracy, with Cecil B. DeMille as producer.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
