What happens
Harriet Craig runs her household with rigid control, leaving her house spotless and her guests unwelcome. When her husband Walter returns from a trip, the tension with his aunt Austin and the neighbors rises, and Harriet's attitudes begin to alienate those closest to her. The episode is a 1941 installment of the Lux Radio Theatre, first broadcast on May 12, 1941, and stars Rosalind Russell and Herbert Marshall, with Beulah Bondi as Miss Austin. The story is based on George Kelly's play, which the announcer notes won the Pulitzer Prize. The drama centers on the strains of a marriage shaped by Harriet's determination to keep control of her home and husband.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
