What happens

Kitty Foyle, a young Philadelphia woman working at a New York beauty salon, is courted by two very different men. Dr. Mark Eisen proposes marriage at a hospital one evening, and she accepts. Later, Win Strafford, a wealthy publisher's son whom she once worked for, reappears and asks her to sail with him to South America. Kitty must weigh her feelings, her memories, and the advice of those around her. This Lux Radio Theatre broadcast presents the first act of the story, starring Ginger Rogers in the title role, with Dennis Morgan and James Craig as the two men. The adaptation was produced for the Lux Radio Theatre in 1941, the year the film was released.

New York City and Philadelphia, in the 1930s.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
