What happens

In wartime Casablanca, Victor Laszlo, a resistance leader who has escaped from a Nazi camp, arrives in the city hoping to obtain an exit visa to Lisbon. Major Strasser, a German intelligence officer, is also in town, and Captain Renault has arranged for Laszlo to be followed. Laszlo and his companion Ilsa Lund seek help from Rick, the American who runs the cafe where everyone gathers, and Rick's connection to Ilsa is revealed as the story proceeds. Based on the Lux Radio Theatre adaptation of the Warner Brothers film Casablanca, this episode first aired on January 24, 1944, starring Hedy Lamarr, Alan Ladd and John Loder, with Edgar Barrier. The first part of the story sets up the intrigue around the stolen letters of transit and the tangled past between the characters.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
