What happens

Lux Radio Theatre presents Random Harvest, adapted from James Hilton's novel, with Ronald Coleman and Greer Garson in the leading roles. A shell-shocked soldier with no memory of his past escapes from an asylum on the night of the Armistice in 1918 and wanders into a small English town. There he meets Paula, a young stage performer, who takes him in and helps him begin a new life. Their relationship grows as he starts to rebuild his identity, marries Paula, and begins writing. The episode traces their early life together and the uncertain future that lies ahead for them.

England, beginning on the night of the Armistice in November 1918 in Melbridge and the town near the asylum, later moving to Cleveland, Liverpool and London in the 1920s

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
