What happens
Stephen Locke, a young British embassy official in revolutionary Petrograd in 1917, is left behind as an unofficial observer when the embassy closes. He meets Elena, a Russian woman, and the two begin a romance despite their opposing loyalties. Stephen is drawn into talks with Russian authorities about preventing a separate peace with Germany. The Lux Radio Theatre broadcast of June 7, 1937 stars Errol Flynn and Francis Farmer, adapted from the Warner Brothers film based on Bruce Lockhart's autobiography.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
