This episode of Lux Radio Theatre, first broadcast on October 20, 1941, stars Tyrone Power and Annabella, and is adapted from the novel by Vicente Blasco Ibanez.

Spain, including the town of Sevilla and the bull rings of Madrid, in the early twentieth century.

Characters: Juan Gallardo, Carmen Espinosa, Manolo, Pablo, Curro, Garabato, Madre Sita, Antonio Lopez

Listen for: Juan's pride as Curro's review is read aloud, and Carmen's quiet fear each time he enters the ring.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
