What happens
Penny Wood, a teenage girl, and her neighbor Chuck Harris, who is building a glider, are close friends who attend the same high school. Penny's mother wants her to act more like a young lady, and when Penny's uncle Mervyn comes home from college, he brings his friend Roger Van Vleck to stay for the weekend. Penny becomes charmed by Roger's sophisticated manners and attention, while Chuck grows suspicious of him. Penny's family prepares for a party, and the household is thrown into a flurry of guests and dinner preparations. This is the Lux Radio Theatre presentation of Her First Beau, starring Jane Withers and Jackie Cooper, based on a 1941 Columbia picture.
