What happens
Playwright Andre Castillo and Dr. Jane Alexander meet at a Broadway opening, where she faints in the theater and he carries her out, and they later begin a romance. Andre, a Lux Radio Theatre production, is pictured as a man who finds love illogical, while Jane believes it can be reasoned about. Their marriage quickly runs into trouble when Jane insists on keeping her own apartment and her demanding hospital schedule, leaving Andre irritated and puzzled by her independence. The story is told in the program's Lux Radio Theatre presentation of Appointment for Love, starring Olivia de Havilland and Paul Lucas, originally broadcast on May 1, 1944.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
