What happens
Regina Hubbard wants to marry John Bagtree and leave her domineering father, Marcus Hubbard, in a small Southern town around 1880. Her brothers Ben and Oscar chafe under his control, and Marcus pushes his own schemes for money and power. Lux Radio Theatre presents Lillian Hellman's play Another Part of the Forest, the earlier story of the Hubbard family, with Walter Huston as Marcus, Anne Blyth as Regina and Vincent Price as Ben. The broadcast first aired on September 13, 1948. In this portion, Regina meets Bagtree in secret, Oscar gets into trouble over a dispute with the carpetbagger Sam Taylor, and tensions grow in the household.
A small southern town in the 1880s, centred on the Hubbard family's home at Lionet Plantation and Marcus Hubbard's store.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
