What happens
Joe Brady and Clarence Doolittle, two sailors on four days' leave in San Pedro, California, near the end of the war, spend their first evening ashore looking for girls. Joe is a confident ladies' man, while Clarence, a shy former choir master from Brooklyn, wants to learn how to talk to women. Their plans are repeatedly interrupted by a runaway boy named Donald, who needs a letter from a guardian before he can join the Navy. The boy's guardian, Susan Abbott, is a young singer hoping for a break in the music business. The broadcast presents the story in its first act and the start of its second, with Frank Sinatra, Catherine Grayson and Jean Kelly as the leads, and with songs woven into the comedy.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
