What happens
Lum and Abner, the residents of Pine Ridge, have a $10,000 contest on their minds, and the townsfolk are wary of one another. Lum and Abner's checker game is interrupted by Abner's suspicion that Mose is a deputy passing reports on him to Dodge. Abner grumbles about being watched and having to choose his words carefully. Cedric, a store clerk, arrives looking for Mr. Dodge, and Abner, eager to win the contest, speaks with him. The transcript breaks off before the episode's plot fully unfolds. The series aired on NBC, Mutual, CBS and ABC, and the lead actors are Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle.
