What happens
Lum and Abner, the two old friends from Pine Ridge, venture through heavy snow on Christmas night to help a young couple who have been forced to spend the night in a barn. The couple, travelling after paying their taxes at the county seat, found no room at the hotel and are expecting a baby. Lum and Abner's grandpappy, Doc Miller, and his wife are called in to help, and the neighbors rally to bring blankets, an oil heater and groceries. The story is a Christmas broadcast from the Columbia Broadcasting System, told in the series' familiar small-town style. It was first heard on December 25, 1940, and stars Chester Lauck and Norris Goff, with Lurene Tuttle also in the cast.

Listen for: Lum and Abner trudging through the snow toward the barn, and the neighbors deciding to help the couple.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
