What happens
Lum and Abner follow the events in Pine Ridge, a small hill-country community. Lum has fled to hide in the feed room of the Jones store after being taken to Little Rock for questioning about an illegal post office. Abner visits him there in the early morning and brings him news of the town. Lum worries about his future, talks of trying to reach Mexico, and asks Abner to keep his hiding place secret. Abner discusses the search and the town gossip with him. This 1940 episode of the Lum and Abner series first aired on January 8, 1940, with Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle in the leading roles.
