What happens

Lum Edwards learns that Squire Skimp has signed the boxer Mousey Gray to a contract and wants five hundred dollars for it, so Lum and Abner plan to get Mousey back before the carnival fight. Lum refuses to pay the price, and the two talk about how he might recover the contract. Later Lum bargains with Squire and tries to win him over with a show of friendship, and the two men come to a deal over a check. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, with Lum learning of trouble at the squire's camp.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
