What happens

Squire Skimp and Lum plan to build up Abner's confidence so that he will stand up to his wife Elizabeth, whom they believe has been imposing on him. Using what they call psychology, they convince Abner that he is a strong man who should be master of his home. In the Pine Ridge general store, Lum and Cedric discuss the scheme, and Cedric tries out the technique on himself with comic results. Abner then grows bossy with the store clerks, demanding work and boasting of his strength. He starts a brawl with Mose and Billy, and the episode builds toward a showdown at home between Abner and Elizabeth. Lum and Abner is a radio comedy series, and this episode aired in 1941 on NBC.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
