What happens

Lum and Abner, the Pine Ridge store partners, find their secret printing press produces counterfeit ten-dollar bills, and both believe it grants them magic power. Cedric and Abner spend their afternoon at the Jot-Em-Down store ordering expensive goods from a mail order catalog, including bicycles, a motorcycle and roller skates. Cedric talks of being a gypsy like his late uncle, and the two decide to quit working and give the store to Mr. Peabody. Abner's brash talk of a trip to New York causes friction over spending and phone calls. The broadcast is from the Lum and Abner series, first aired March 19, 1942, on NBC, Mutual, CBS and ABC, starring Chester Lauck, Norris Goff and Lurene Tuttle.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
