What happens

Lum and Abner must decide how to spend the $10,000 left to Pine Ridge by Jotham Bates Smith. Mousey Gray has already proposed a luxurious old people's home, but the partners could not agree on who would live there and who would run the store, so that plan was dropped. Grandpappy Spears suggests using a radio quiz program, but Lum and Abner want something that benefits the whole community. Mousey calls with another idea, and his proposal is set aside while the men continue arguing about what the money should do for Pine Ridge.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
