What happens

Luigi Basco, a newcomer to Chicago, boards a trolley with a transfer that the conductor says has expired. After a heated argument over the fifteen-cent fare, Luigi arrives late to his school, where his teacher Miss Spaulding and classmates hear his account. Encouraged by his friends, he writes a complaint letter to the Chicago Trolley Company, and the company's replies lead him to a meeting with passenger traffic manager Mr. Atkinson. Life with Luigi is a comedy series, and this episode was first broadcast on 1950-09-26, starring J. Carrol Naish as Luigi with Alan Reed as Pasquale.

Characters: Luigi Basco, Pasquale, Miss Spaulding, Schultz, Rosa, Mr. Atkinson, Mr. Jenkins, Mr. Horowitz

Listen for: Luigi's struggle to get his fifteen cents back from the trolley company, and how his letter-writing escalates the dispute.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
