What happens
Luigi Vasco, an Italian immigrant in Chicago, learns that his friend Pasquale has sent out wedding invitations announcing his marriage to Pasquale's daughter Rosa. Luigi insists he never agreed to the match and tries to cancel the ceremony, while the neighborhood celebrates and the presents keep arriving. Pasquale, who brought Luigi to America, pressures him to go through with it, and Luigi finds himself caught between the wedding plans and his own wishes. Life with Luigi was a comedy series from the era of old-time radio, created by Cy Howard and starring J. Carroll Naish as Luigi, with Alan Reed as Pasquale. This episode aired on May 29, 1949.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
