What happens

Luigi Vasco, newly arrived in America, writes a letter to his mother in Italy about the Thanksgiving holiday. At school, his teacher Miss Spalding quizzes the class on the Pilgrims, and classmates talk about their plans for the holiday. Luigi hopes his employer Pasquale will invite him to dinner, but first he must navigate several invitations and a difficult offer from Pasquale. Chicago's neighborhoods and the friendly rivalry among classmates set the tone. The series Life with Luigi, first broadcast on November 22, 1949, stars J. Carrol Naish as Luigi with Alan Reed.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
