What happens
Luigi Basco, a recent immigrant running an antique shop, feels weak, sleepy and sore-throated, and his friends offer him a stream of conflicting advice. Pasquale Squalice, Schultz and others push him toward a doctor, a gym and home remedies while he writes letters home to his mother in Italy. Luigi visits a strongman trainer who insists that civilization is the cause of his weakness, then tries lifting a heavy dumbbell. He eventually goes to a clinic, where Dr. Adler examines him and considers several possible causes before the story turns to his throat. The series Life with Luigi, created by Cy Howard, stars J. Carrol Naish and Alan Reed, and this episode aired on February 6, 1951.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
