What happens
Chester A. Riley, a factory worker, returns home after a bad day with his new foreman, Mr. Burnside, who has fired him and then rehired him on humiliating terms. The Life of Riley is a comedy series with William Bendix in the title role, originally broadcast on December 1, 1950, on the Blue Network/ABC and NBC. Riley's wife Peg and their daughter Babs are at home, and Riley is quick to snap at them. Burnside's daughter Effie arrives at the plant, and Riley soon finds himself making plans with her and her father that spiral out of control. The portion heard here ends with Riley caught in a web of confused dates and promises.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
