What happens

Chester A. Riley reads in the evening paper about a riot between City College and State University students, and he is outraged by it. His daughter Babs is arrested in the disturbance, and Riley locks her in her room to study as punishment. Babs begs to be allowed out, and Riley's wife Peg tries to persuade him to ease up. Later, George comes to the house with a French lesson, and Riley learns that the real reason is a school dance. Riley gives in and lets Babs out, and the story continues into the dance. The series is The Life of Riley, first broadcast on November 24, 1950, starring William Bendix as Riley, with Paula Winslowe and Hans Conried in the cast.

The Riley home, and later a college dance on a campus.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
