What happens
Riley, a cheerful factory man, is persuaded by his son Junior to consider working at a resort rather than paying for a vacation. Flashing back to Brooklyn, Riley, a shipping clerk at Hockinson's department store, is smitten with Peggy Barker, the secretary to the owner's son. He works up the nerve to ask her out, and she reveals she is heading to Camp Killcare in the Catskills. Riley takes a job there as a waiter, where a series of mishaps follows. The series is The Life of Riley, first broadcast on May 13, 1949, with William Bendix and Paula Winslowe in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
