What happens
Chester A. Riley is annoyed when friends compare him to the bumbling Riley of a new movie, though he daydreams of himself as a brilliant scientist, a romantic lover and a secret agent. His wife Peg wants to be alone with her young suitor George, and Riley is determined to keep an eye on the couple. His daughter Babs, meanwhile, is caught up in an argument with her parents about their home life. The episode is part of the long-running radio series The Life of Riley, first broadcast in 1949 on the Blue Network and NBC, with William Bendix in the title role and Paula Winslowe as Peg.
The Riley home in California, in the evening and overnight.
Characters: Chester A. Riley, Peg Riley, Babs Riley, George Cameron, Gillis
Listen for: Riley's eavesdropping through the keyhole, his angry confrontation with Babs and Peg, and Babs's announcement that she is leaving home.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
