What happens
Chester A. Riley, a worried father, learns that his teenage daughter Babs has paid Professor Van Plantan for a chance at a stage role, and that her boyfriend Simon has been drawn into it as well. Riley is determined to get the money back and to keep the young couple apart. His efforts at the professor's office lead to an unexpected mix-up, with Riley himself being drawn toward the stage. The episode is from The Life of Riley, first broadcast on June 1, 1946, and stars William Bendix as Riley.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
