What happens
Chester A. Riley and his friend Jim Gillis wager on which of their sons can sell more peanuts at Brophy Brothers' circus. Riley's son Junior, who is fifteen, takes a job selling peanuts there, and Riley arranges for the bet to be settled by how well each boy does. The Life of Riley is a radio comedy series, and this episode aired on May 25, 1946, on the Blue Network and NBC. William Bendix stars as Riley, with Paula Winslowe as his wife Peg. The bet soon sets off trouble between the two families, and Junior's wish to join the circus causes Riley more worry.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
