What happens

Chester Riley tries to make amends with his wife Peg after a birthday mix-up, buying two tickets to the ballet for her birthday celebration. Riley's neighbor Luella Lounsbury is a complication, since Riley mentions her birthday falls on the same day and she later talks him into giving her the tickets. Riley and Peg then attempt to get back into the ballet's good graces through a series of comic misadventures. This episode of The Life of Riley, broadcast on June 1, 1951 on the Blue Network and NBC, stars William Bendix as Riley, with Paula Winslowe as Peg.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
