What happens
Chester A. Riley, a factory worker, is asked by his boss Mr. Stevenson to look after Cecil, the boss's nephew, for a day. Riley's son Junior is pressed into playing with the difficult boy, and the household's frustrations with Junior grow. Riley's wife Peg and daughter Babs complain that Junior has been unmanageable, reading Peg's diary and shooting his toy gun, and Riley begins to suspect that something deeper is wrong with the boy. The Life of Riley, a comedy series, aired on October 15, 1948, with William Bendix in the title role, joined by Paula Winslowe and others in the cast.
A typical American household and the factory where Riley works.

Listen for: Riley's growing conviction that Junior has the mind of a nine-year-old and his attempts to address it with his family.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
