What happens

Chester A. Riley, a California war worker, comes home on payday and finds his household in an uproar over money, checks and a skating lesson his son Junior wants. After a sharp argument, Riley gives in and goes to the boy's room with the money, only to find a pillow in Junior's bed. Junior has slipped out the window, and Riley and his friend Waldo Benny race across town chasing clues, including a note about the North Star and a bus schedule. The story follows Riley's search, with William Bendix in the lead as Riley and Paula Winslowe as his wife Peg, and it presents the episode as a comedy from the Blue Network and NBC in March 1945.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
