What happens
Chester Riley, a factory worker played by William Bendix, argues with his coworker Jim Gillis about fatherhood during a lunch break. Riley has bought an educational insurance policy so his son Junior can attend college, but Junior announces he wants to quit school and go to work. Riley tries to talk him out of it, then turns to a stern experiment in psychology to change his mind. The episode is from the series The Life of Riley, first broadcast on September 22, 1945, on the Blue Network and NBC, with William Bendix, Paula Winslowe, Hans Conried and Alan Reed in the lead roles.
Riley's workplace at lunchtime, then the Riley family home.

Listen for: Riley's arguments with Gillis and his son, and his dispute with Junior over quitting school.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
