What happens
Private investigator George Valentine is hired by Felicity Graham, who suspects that a man named Paulos visiting from South America is actually James Cartwright, her cousin Laura's husband who supposedly died in a murder-suicide fifteen years ago. Felicity believes Cartwright murdered Laura and faked his own death to escape with her inherited fortune, which he had secretly moved to Los Altos. Valentine agrees to investigate whether Paulos is truly Cartwright in disguise.
New York City, primarily at Felicity Graham's home at Burlington Terrace; also involves South America and Los Altos.
Characters: George Valentine, Felicity Graham, Paul Henry, Laura Cartwright, James Cartwright, Paulos, The Maid
Listen for: A tense meeting between Valentine and the mysterious Mr. Paulos; revelations about James Cartwright's cruel nature and his scheme to steal Laura's money; the mystery of whether Paulos is actually the supposedly deceased Cartwright.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
