What happens
Johnny Dollar, a freelance insurance investigator, is hired by Harry Branson of the Philadelphia Mutual Liability and Casualty Company to accompany Betty Charlene Winters to her summer home on Lake Wawa Yanda in northern New Jersey. Mrs. Winters is a wealthy widow whose husband died in a car accident some months earlier, and she is bringing a strange, garish statue along on the trip. After a late-night attack in the house leaves Dollar with a lump on his head, he begins to doubt the story he has been told. The episode is a 1957 installment of the CBS Radio series Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar, starring Bob Bailey.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
